Second Language Indigenous Resources
Aboriginal Ways of Knowing and Being Posters:
BCATML has translated the BC Teachers' Federation Aboriginal Ways of Knowing and Being posters into French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Punjabi, and Spanish. These posters were distributed to teachers at the Celebrating Languages Conference (2018) and were heralded by many. Teachers have found them to be very helpful; so much so that these Indigenous principles are actually changing how many second language teachers teach in the classroom. They have allowed teachers to explore and discuss Indigenous perspectives and ways of knowing with their students, authentically. We invite teachers to download these posters and use them as a springboard to explore Indigenous perspectives with their students.
