![]() The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Government of Japan is currently accepting applications for its 2020 Undergraduate Scholarship for Canadian students who wish to study at a Japanese university. The scholarship covers: 1. Full tuition 2. Monthly allowance 3. Round-trip flight between Japan and Canada The Undergraduate Scholarship is aimed at high school graduates, born on or after April 2, 1995 (for the 2020 scholarship year). The term of the scholarship is 5 years, beginning in April 2020 (including one year of Japanese language training). Application guides and forms are available on the Embassy of Japan's website: http://www.ca.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/education.html. Deadline for the 2020 scholarship year: June 7, 2019. Applicants who successfully pass the written application screening are required to undertake an interview and examinations (as outlined in the application guidelines). Candidate interviews and examinations will be held in July on a date determined by the Consulate General of Japan. Interviews and examinations must be conducted in-person at the Consulate General of Japan’s offices.
